USD 343 is proud to announce that the district has earned a Copper Star in "Individual Plans of Study" from the Kansas State Department of Education and the Kansas Board of Education as part of the 2025 Kansans Can Recognition Program. USD 343 is one of only 48 school districts in Kansas to be honored with a Star in this area!

This recognition honors school districts that provide, "quality and inclusive opportunities for each student to experience connected learning which develops academic knowledge, as well as technical and employability skills."

39.3 million illegal stop-arm violations were recorded in 2024–2025 across the U.S.—down from 45.2 million the year before.
On one school day alone, 67,258 illegal passings were reported in 36 states.
School buses safely transport 21.4 million children daily—but zones around loading and unloading remain the most dangerous.

"Each October, we observe National Teen Driver Safety Week to call attention to the challenges faced by teen drivers and to explore how we can all work to keep each other safe behind the wheel. These efforts are perhaps more important than ever, as our roadways are becoming increasingly dangerous."

On 11/13/25 PLHS will be having a blood drive. I have 2 seniors who are working extremely hard to help me organize this. Please come out and support them. Our goal last year was 50 and we surpassed at 52 pints. This allowed for $500 scholarship to be handed out to a senior. This year our goal is 100, this will allow for $750 scholarship. Let's come together as a community to support not only saving lives, but add a scholarship for our seniors!
