With the completion of the new weight room in the aux gym, USD 343 will be offering some of the old equipment for sale to patrons. With that in mind, if you're interested in purchasing any equipment from the old weight room, please complete the form below. Several of the items are priced; however, there are a few items that are "open bid." For items that are priced, sales will be completed on a first come, first serve basis (Justin Dunnaway will communicate to you if you did get the item that you requested). For open bid items, all bids will be due by Monday, March 9th--the high bidder on each piece of equipment will be contacted by Wednesday, March 11th. All payments will need to be made to Jenny Herschell at the USD 343 Board office. Check or cash (cash must be exact as we will not have change available). Similarly, payment must be made prior to picking up the item(s) you have bid on.

If you bid on a large piece of equipment, it will be your responsibility to break the equipment down and to set it up in your new location. Similarly, it will be the buyer's responsibility to transport the equipment. To schedule time to pickup an item, you will need to work with our Chief of Maintenance, Bryan Williams. If you have any questions on what a piece of equipment is, please contact Mike Paramore via email at mparamore@usd343.org.

As a result, school buses may be delayed by up to 45 minutes while law enforcement clears the area. This accident is impacting all vehicles attempting to travel through that area. Again, please expect up to a 45-minute delay for bus pick-up times this morning. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We're excited to introduce Laurel Rakers, who is joining us from the University of Kansas! Laurel is working with Mr. Matt Simmons at PLHS in the Physical Education department, and we couldn't be more thrilled to have her in USD 343.

🏐 A little about Laurel:
• Hometown: St. Louis, MO (Parkway West High School grad!)
• College: University of Kansas
• Fun facts: Club volleyball player who loves to cook, bake, draw, and color in her free time

Teaching runs in the family for Laurel! Her mom is also a PE teacher, and watching her teach and be in her element inspired Laurel to follow in her footsteps. She's always loved being around kids in the sports world and knew teaching was her calling.

What she loves most about teaching? Seeing students succeed, build confidence, and have fun as they master new movements and skills. That's what PE is all about! 💪

Laurel has been so impressed by our USD 343 students—she says they've been incredibly kind, great listeners, and patient with her as she learns and grows.

4th grade students hosted their annual “Wax Museum” and did an amazing job! Students researched influential figures from Kansas history, prepared speeches, and created costumes to bring Famous Kansans to life. Standing still as “wax figures,” they came alive to share the stories and legacies of Kansans who made a lasting impact.
