Thank you to all who came to support our surrounding hospitals during our blood drive on 4/16/26! We have met our goal for the year which was 50. We collected 66 units this year. Special Thanks to my Seniors Josie Boyden and Tilly Johnson for all your assistance this year.

Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations.

This week we will be celebrating Every Kid Healthy Week. It is a national movement taking action to make schools healthier places, so kids can learn to eat right, be physically active and get equipped for success.
Healthy kids are better learners!

Due to Heavy Rain, High winds gust (70mph), large hail, and a potential tornado or two, ALL USD 343 Perry-Lecompton Public Schools, including Childcare will be dismissing at 1pm today, 4/17/26. Buses will begin their routes at 1pm.
The safety of our students, staff, and families is our highest priority, and considering the current weather forecast may make it very unsafe to send students home later in the afternoon.
All after-school activities, practices, and evening events are also CANCELLED for today.
Please monitor our district website, social media channels, and your registered email and phone for further updates. Families are encouraged to exercise caution on roads.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your building office.
Again, we will be dismissing all USD 343 Schools at 1:OO pm today due to forecasted weather, scheduled to hit around normal school ending time.

A few days away from 4/16/26 Blood Drive. We are so close to our goal! https://donate.savealifenow.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/86459

Let's beat our numbers from 2025, which were the biggest in 20 years! We donated 57 pints. We are at 37 currently, from our drive in November! We can surpass last year easily!!! Plus, if we can get 50 we get a scholarship for my seniors who have spent time helping me set up and making the drives successful. https://donate.savealifenow.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/86459

With the completion of the new weight room in the aux gym, USD 343 will be offering some of the old equipment for sale to patrons. With that in mind, if you're interested in purchasing any equipment from the old weight room, please complete the form below. Several of the items are priced; however, there are a few items that are "open bid." For items that are priced, sales will be completed on a first come, first serve basis (Justin Dunnaway will communicate to you if you did get the item that you requested). For open bid items, all bids will be due by Monday, March 9th--the high bidder on each piece of equipment will be contacted by Wednesday, March 11th. All payments will need to be made to Jenny Herschell at the USD 343 Board office. Check or cash (cash must be exact as we will not have change available). Similarly, payment must be made prior to picking up the item(s) you have bid on.
If you bid on a large piece of equipment, it will be your responsibility to break the equipment down and to set it up in your new location. Similarly, it will be the buyer's responsibility to transport the equipment. To schedule time to pickup an item, you will need to work with our Chief of Maintenance, Bryan Williams. If you have any questions on what a piece of equipment is, please contact Mike Paramore via email at mparamore@usd343.org.
