Carleigh Whitman Joins PLMS Staff

PLMS is happy to announce the addition of Carleigh Whitman to 7th Grade English/Language Arts. Ms. Whitman is a proud alumna of Kansas State University where she successfully participated in the University Honors Program and earned dual degrees in Secondary Education and English with a minor in French. Ms. Whitman comes to us from her student teaching experience in De Soto with their 7th grade ELA classes.

Ms. Whitman, like most ELA teachers, loves to read books and has done so ever since she was very young. She also speaks French and has a love and appreciation for the language which helped her to travel through many countries during her semester studying abroad at the University College Cork in Cork, Ireland.

Teaching is in Ms. Whitman's blood as her grandparents were educators. Growing up, her favorite part of going to visit relatives was listening to her grandparents' stories from their teaching years. Hearing their stories made her realize how meaningful the teaching profession is for both the teachers and students. Ms. Whitman's favorite part of being a teacher is being able to get to know her students. They are the reason that she loves what she does!

We welcome Ms. Carleigh Whitman to the Perry-Lecompton family and know she will be a great addition to our team!
