Happy Retirement to Marty Blosser

After 27.5 years of service to the Perry-Lecompton school district, Marty Blosser has joined the retirement community. There are obviously many memories and changes that come to mind over nearly three decades of employment. Marty remembers how excited everyone was to be issued “bag phones” for their cars while working for Keystone. She also mentioned that at one time, going paperless, having Zoom meetings, or texting messages to one another was not conceivable. Possibly the most inconceivable event was learning to work through a pandemic, yet it lead to new and innovative ways to teach and learn.

Marty is looking forward to slowing down, do some traveling and spending more time with her family, and enjoying life more. That family includes husband Tim, their eldest son Derik and youngest son Sean and his wife Lesly. Plus four grandchildren (Mak, John Henry, Deekin, and Baeron.) As much as she looks forward to retirement, she shared that she will miss seeing everyone she worked with and those late nights working high school basketball games.

Although she has many great memories over the nearly 30 years at USD 343, she is especially fond of the End of Year celebration staff meeting at PLHS when Mr. Landis handed out the Mr. Mole Awards. “It was just a great day with all the faculty/staff before we all left for the summer.”

Marty offered a big “thank you” to everyone at USD 343 and shared she truly enjoyed going to work every day and shared with a smile “this was the best low paying job I ever had!” Marty said “Give me a honk and a wave if you walk by the house and see me outside!”  Best wishes to Marty in her retirement and thank you for your years of service to the Perry-Lecompton district and community.
