Pat Hupfauf Retires

After 37 years in education and 22 years at PLHS, Pat Hupfauf is retiring.   Pat has served in many roles for USD 343, he has taught at all grade levels, as well as served as a coach for PLHS and PLMS basketball and volleyball.  He also spent time coaching outside of PLHS for a time with FreeState High School in Lawrence.

In Retirement Pat will be working as a rural postal carrier for the Berryton Kansas area, he will also stay busy working as an event operations assistant for the Kansas City Chiefs, and as an adjunct professor for the University of Kansas.   He is looking forward to meeting new people and developing new relationships, as well as maintaining his current ones.

Pat enjoyed and will miss the daily interactions at PLHS and making people smile and laugh.  Pat says the biggest change in education. since he started, has been the technology.  He says “It has made some things easier and other things harder!”

Pat wanted to say to everyone “Have fun! Smile and be positive it makes everything and everybody better.”  We wish Pat the best of luck in his new adventures,  his laughter, and positive energy will be missed at PLHS by both students and staff.
