PLHS Welcomes New Social Studies Teacher Joey Franzitta

Joey Franzitta is coming to PLHS to replace Mark Armstrong who has retired this year.  Joey will also be taking over the head girls’ basketball position at PLHS. Joey comes to us from Ottawa Middle School where he has been teaching 7/8th grade social studies.  Joey grew up in Cimarron Kansas and graduated from Cimarron High School.  He then went on to get his Bachelors degree from the University of Kansas.  While in college he worked as a tutor at Freestate and Lawrence High Schools.  He completed his student teaching at Tonganoxie High School.

Joey wanted to become a teacher because he wanted to be in a career where he could help people.  Teaching was a natural fit for him.  Joey enjoys helping students learn on a daily basis and being a positive role model in their lives.  Joey comes to USD 343 for an opportunity to teach and coach at the high school level in a smaller school district.  He says “Perry is a great fit for me professionally and personally”.

In his free time, Joey enjoys watching sports, attending KU sporting events, grilling and hanging out with his friends.  Please make sure to welcome Joey to USD 343 when you see him this fall.
