7th-12th Grade Students Move to Daily Instruction Beginning October 5th.

Data has been reviewed for the phase determination for the next two weeks of school at USD #343. (October 5th - October 16th). The current information will allow USD #343 schools to transition to the "Green" phase next Monday, October 5th. This will allow all 7th through 12th-grade students to attend classes daily. There is no change for Preschool through 6th-grade students, as they are already attending daily.

As outlined in the USD #343 gating criteria document, the indicators used are the two-week positivity rate, local hospital capacity, and the trend in county data.
The current combined Douglas County and Jefferson County positive percentage rate for our district has dropped to 5.11%, which is a decline of 1.5% from September 15th. Other data of interest in Douglas County include only 37% of hospital beds in use. The overall positive tests have decreased.  As of September 29th, Jefferson County has a total of 23 active cases, with only one of those cases located within the USD #343 district boundary.

All safety precautions are still in effect. Masks must be worn by all students and staff, social distancing will be enforced, temperature checks at the building entrance, and frequent hand-washing is required.  Please do your part and practice all of the previously mentioned safety precautions at home. We need our children in school and participating in activities!  As a reminder, all spectators attending indoor activities are required to wear a mask properly.  Those spectators not wearing a mask will be asked to leave the building.
