Welcome Tammara Capps to PLMS

Join us in welcoming Tammara Capps to the PLMS staff as the new 5th and 6th grade resource room teacher! Mrs. Capps comes to us from Langston Hughes Elementary School in Lawrence where she was the ISA Title 1 Reading and Math teacher. She grew up in Lawrence, KS and graduated from Lawrence High School. Mrs. Capps has earned degrees from the University of Kansas, a graduate degree from the NBC Anchor Academy and a management certificate in Pharmacoeconomics from the University of Southern California, Ft. Scott Community College degree in phlebotomy/lab tech certification, and is currently attending Fort Hays State University.

When Mrs. Capps graduated from KU there were no teaching jobs available so she used her degree to train physicians, healthcare providers, and state officials. While this was a wonderful way to use her degree she missed teaching in a school environment. Mrs. Capps loves seeing the lights go on when a student finally understands a concept. She enjoys building student's self-confidence in meeting their goals. Mrs. Capps is ready to join the PLMS team and empower her students to be the best they can be.

Mrs. Capps is looking forward to working in USD 343, making learning fun and engaging. She loves the small town feel and collaboration among staff. She has been dreaming of a teaching job and is excited to get started!

Welcome to the USD 343 Kaw family!
