COVID-19 Food/Nutrition Resources

Although the U.S.D. #343 Food Service program comes to an end on May 20th, there are many food resources available for students and community members.  U.S.D. #343 has compiled food and nutrition information that is accurate as of May 19, 2020.  If you are in need or know someone who is in need, please review the information below.

Food Banks/Pantry
 
Crossroads Cowboy Church Food Bank
Location:  Hwy 24 and Hwy 59.
Time:  2nd & 4th Mondays at 2 pm.
 
Harvester’s Mobile Food Distribution
Location:  Williamstown Assembly of God
Time:  3rd Monday of the Month at 2 pm
 
God’s Storehouse Food Bank
Location:  Main St. in Meriden
Time: Saturdays from 7:30 - 9:30 am.
 
Jefferson County Service Organization Mobile Food Pantry
Location:  Lakeside Village
Time:  1st Wednesday of the Month at 11:30 am
 
Jefferson County Service Organization Mobile Food Pantry
Location:  Oskaloosa
Time:  1st Wednesday of the Month at 10 am.
 
Perry United Methodist Church Food Pantry - Blessing Boxes with non-perishable food items for those in need.
Location:  220 Oak Street, in Perry and at Lecompton Elementary School in Lecompton.
Time:  Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
 
Lecompton United Methodist Church
Location:  402 Elmore St, Lecompton, KS 66050 (basement of the church, enter using the East door)
Time:  3rd Saturday of the Month from 7:30 to 11am
 
Stull United Methodist Church
Location:  1596 E 250 Rd, Lecompton, KS 66050
Time:  1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month 7-8:30 pm
 
Stull United Methodist Church - Mobile Food Distribution
Location:  1596 E 250 Rd, Lecompton, KS 66050
Time:  4th Thursday of the Month from 12 to 1 pm

Harvesters
  • Agency Locator: Find pantries, produce distributions, and meal sites in your area! 
    • Directions: Go towww.harvesters.org/get-help and type in a zip code. If you do not have internet access, call our Customer Care line at 816-929-3220 or toll-free at 877-653-9519.
  • SNAP Helpline: Harvesters' SNAP Outreach team can help with questions on eligibility, new policies that are in place, and assist with applications over the phone. (SNAP is the program formerly known as food stamps).
How to Apply for SNAP
  • Through DCF self-service portal at: https://cssp.kees.ks.gov/apspssp/
  • Via phone at: (785)296-3271
  • Paper applications are available outside DCF service centers. You can leave your completed application(s) in drop boxes outside the centers
  • Harvesters Community Food Network can help you apply 
  • Households are not required to do initial in-person interviews prior to receiving SNAP until May 2020

Description: Dinner-to-Go curbside pick up for anyone in need! No RSVP needed, simply drive up to the curb.
 
Global Cafe
