Brent Daniels Makes Music

Students at Perry Lecompton Middle School recently enjoyed a music presentation by Brent Daniels. Brent is a producer, singer, songwriter, sound designer and composer. His music has been used in films such as Charlie’s Angels, Scary Movie 2, The Skulls, 3000 miles to Graceland, Gossip, and on MTV’s The Real World and Road Rules. Brent’s presentation involved the students in dance and creating sounds while demonstrating his musical skills. His comments on education were impressive. “It behooves you to get a good education,” stated Mr. Daniels. “The broader and deeper you skill set, the more successful you will be in your chosen profession.”
He used mulit tracks of sounds, created by our students, to blend together to simulate the sound of drums, musical notes, and rhythms. The repetition of this four bar passage, along with some other sounds from his keyboard, were blended and looped to create an original song right before us.
