Winter Royalty 2019 at PLHS
In January, the PLHS student body selected the Winter Royalty candidates for 2019. The candidates are Sara Haggard with Connor Anderson, Nicole Seichepine with Dalton Kellum, and Talisa Stone with Jessye Schumann. The Senior Class of 2019 also selected their junior attendants, which are Cali Coleman with Brad O'Trimble and Rylee Paramore with Bryce Wheeler.
In honor of Winter Royalty, the student council is sponsoring "Spirit Week" with the following themes: Meme Monday, Twin Tuesday, Wild West Wednesday, Team Thursday, and Flannel Friday.
There are many activities during our Winter Royalty week. On Tuesday, the basketball teams will be traveling to Jeff West. There is Senior Night for our wrestlers on Wednesday as we host a dual. On Thursday, the Scholars Bowl team begins regional competition. The wrestling team travels to Onaga on Friday as the basketball team take on Hiawatha at home. On Saturday, the Forensics team will be also back in action.
The Winter Royalty King and Queen will be announced at halftime of the boys' basketball game on February 1st. The evening will conclude with a dance that will begin after the boys' basketball game and will end at 11:30 p.m.
