PLES/PLMS Spelling Bee Winners

January 17, 2019


The 2018 PLES Spelling Bee was held on December 14th, 2018 in the Lecompton gym.  Nineteen total participants competed.

Third graders:  Karson Weissend, Joel Brown, Zach Blitch, Kendall Craig,Lydia Baranski, Jazlyn Amerine, Brayden Vaughan,Tatum Calovich,  and Sophia Marshall.

Fourth graders: Jalie Paslay, Ryan Heston, Ella Powell, Lilly Newman, Chris Burgess, Kenyon Doleman, Kate Parnell, Wyatt Hepner, Estella Carmichael, and Klaira Sanford.

 The Spelling Bee lasted 27 minutes and concluded on the 106th word. 

Congratulation to the 2018 PLES Spelling Bee winner  Kenyon Doleman.  

Congratulation to the 2018 PLES Spelling Bee Runner up Ryan Heston.

PLMS conducted their spelling bee on Friday January 11th.  There were 30 students that participated in the bee.  The contest lasted an hour and 15 minutes. The winner of this year's spelling bee was Westley DeShazo.  The winners will represent PLES and PLMS in the Jefferson County Spelling Bee that will be held at PLHS on Wednesday, January 30th at 7:00 pm.  Congratulations and Good luck to Kenyon and Westley in the next round.
