PLMS Welcomes Benjamin Wright

July 05, 2018

Benjamin Wright joins the PLMS staff replacing Mr. Heide as the 7th grade Language Arts teacher.  Mr. Wright grew up and graduated from high school in Eudora KS.  Mr. Wright worked in several areas before attending Washburn University and obtaining his degree in education.  He wanted to become a teacher to make an impact.  Growing up he had many wonderful teachers who invested in him and believed in him.  He believes he would not be where he is today if not for the support of those teachers.  His goal is to create relationships that excite students' love of learning.

Mr. Wright enjoys playing strategy games such as chess, card games, and tabletop role-playing games.  His favorite TV shows/movies are Star Trek, Star Wars, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.  He said, "You can sum that all up in one word - Nerd!"  His other passions are music, running and soccer.

He is excited about coming to Perry-Lecompton and felt it was a great match for a couple of reasons.  First, he gets to teach Language Arts which is something he is deeply passionate about.  He likes the feel of a smaller district and his mother lives close to Perry and she said he would be in trouble if he did not come here!  He is really looking forward to meeting the whole community.  He believes that everyone plays a role in student success and he cannot wait to become part of the team.
