Nature Study Site

Monarch

The USD #343 Nature Study Site began with the idea of teaching students to be more aware of nature and our environment. With grants from Outdoor Wildlife Learning Sites (OWLS) and one through the EPA along with lots of volunteers, in 1997 the plan was put into motion. The NSS has grown and evolved over the years and has proven to be a great teaching and learning asset to the district. Students throughout the district have been instrumental in the growth and development of the area. They participate in preparing the soil, planting, cleaning up the area when needed, tracking the growth of the plants, trees and wild life who have found a home in the Nature Study Site. Click the link below to view the slide show created by Pam Rees with the history, and new features, of the USD #343 Nature Study Site, along with wonderful pictures of the site and students working there.
