Back To School for Parents!

The most important aspect of creating a ‘community’ of learners here at our elementary schools is to involve all stakeholders. This year PES & LES are offering ‘Back to School’ Nights. PES: 8/23 & LES: 8/24 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. This is an opportunity for parents/guardians to come and experience school from the student perspective. A tentative schedule is below:
- 6:00 – 6:45 school organization, information & involvement, school program information
- 6:45 staff introduction
- 7:05 – 7:25 1st classroom session
- 7:30 – 7:55 2nd classroom session
The 45 minute general session will be in the PES gym and LES multi purpose area. You will have the opportunity to hear about all the special programs, events and ways to get involved at each school. In the classroom sessions you will have the opportunity to learn about the schedule and expectations at each grade level and in each classroom. Some of this is the same information your children have been given, therefore providing the opportunity for everyone to be on the ‘same page’. To assist in accommodating for more than one student attending at one school, two classroom sessions are scheduled. The same information will be given in each session.
This night is the most effective when it is only a parent night. In advance I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. But I believe you will understand the benefits when you can just focus on the information being given to you on this evening.
