The Technology Classroom Experience
by Brandi Turner
The fifth and sixth grade classrooms at Perry-Lecompton Middle School received a technology face-lift over the summer. When you walk into a classroom, you will see a Promethean projector, interactive whiteboard and document camera in each classroom ready for daily use. The teachers are very excited for this opportunity that will be putting up-to-date technology directly in the hands of students.
A technology-rich classroom is equipped with all of the resources needed for teachers to integrate technology across the curriculum in their classrooms. In return, this allows students to become actively engaged in the learning process.Students will demonstrate what they’ve learned through project-based tasks and communicate their knowledge in a variety of ways. Technology will also allow students to track their own learning, chart their progress and share their success with others.
